I've had two other seat protectors, and this one is by far the best. It's somewhere between the Prince Lionheart two-piece really stiff plastic protector and the One Step Ahead one-piece really flexible protector. This one is taller than One Step Ahead's, and is the perfect material. It stays stiff, really protecting our seats, but it's not SO stiff and thick that you have a hard time getting the seat tight enough. I love that the edges to this seat are flat (as opposed to Prince Lionheart's raised edges) - it makes the footprint seem not quite so imposing. All around, I LOVE this seat, would definitely buy it again, and will recommend it to all my friends!
If you value your car seats, get one of these!

Yea, I was one of those dad's who said we don't need no stinkin' seat protector when we first installed our car seats. That was 2 years ago and what I thought was smooth plastic on the back of the car seat has created a crease and a tear in my wife's Civic. Didn't want the same thing happening to my new SUV so I got 2 of these Kiddopotamus seat protectors, they work GREAT!
For those who say it "slides around"; DON'T BE SO LAZY AND READ THE INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY AND CAREFULLY! After you buckle the car seat in on top of the seat protector you have to do something a little unusual. Depending on the vehicle, you should be able to pull the seat belt strap all the way out to engage it's locking mechanism, then when it draws up the remaining slack you can winch it tight and like magic, no movement.
This protector works very well. It could use an additional 3 inches in height to protect seats from the top lip of the car seat, but that lip isn't what caused the tear in the first place. |
I love this thing

This seat protector is great. I have leather seats in my SUV and they were getting really bad dents in them from the car seat. Since I got the Kiddopotamus Elite Duomat, I have not had any more dents. It also helps keep my daughters food and drink spills from getting on the leather too. I wish that I had found this product when I had my first child.

I bought this seat protector when my son moved to a forward facing carseat & when we bought a new car with leather seats. I am very impressed at the durability of this seat protector. We have had it over a year and it still looks like new. Even when we went through the vomiting rotavirus, the seat protector held up. Also, there are NO indentations in our leather seat of the car. Keeps the carseat from ruining the seat.
Love it!!

Worth every penny. Everyone should have one. The only thing that I dislike is that it is too big to put in the middle part of the backseat of a sedan. Probably better if it is in the seat next to the windows or if it is put in an SUV or a bigger car. Aside from that, I am still using it. Saves my car's backseat from being scratched by the car seat!
